If you’re thinking about taking up tennis, you should be ready to dedicate your time and effort to the sport. And in order to do so, you must be willing to spend a great time practicing to perfect your skills by making it a daily activity.
When you choose a practice area, make sure you choose a location that has a place for your personal items and that is well maintained to get the most out of your practice time.
Go through your stretches without fail. Dedicate 15 minutes before and after your tennis session to stretch your muscles. This will help to avoid muscle cramping during play.
Make sure that the clothing you wear for practice is comfortable, as comfortable clothing will ensure that you can concentrate on your game. Uncomfortable and inappropriate clothing, on the other hands, will distract you.
When you have a partner to practice with, you should always start off by volleying at the net. As you continue, slowly make your way to the baseline. As you continue and improve, practice more difficult shots to refine your reaction times and your skills.
A great way to keep yourself mentally prepared for a regular match is to simulate one during a session with your practice partner. Have a friend serve as the score keeper and call it out during the match. If you practice in a big-game atmosphere, you’ll be better able to block out any distractions during a real match.
A practice partner, however, is not a necessity for working on your shots. Cones will work just as well. Just place a few on the other side of the net and aim right at them. Start your session with the cones in an easy spot, then move them to more difficult locations as you warm up.
Of course, your most important piece of equipment is the racket. You should always use the same racket for both practice and regular match play. Your racket should simply feel like an extension of your body, a sensation that happens only if you use the same racket on a routine basis. Changing back and forth between rackets will destroy your consistency.
If you follow these tips and keep up the practice, then you should see your tennis game improve dramatically.

Replacement grip squash racket?
