The Nike Air Max Courtballistec 2.3 is officially on the way. Nike has announced its plans to coordinate the release of the sneaker with the 2010 Australian Open, and this much anticipated sneaker is sure to be a top seller in athletic apparel stores nationwide.
Riding the coattails of a successful Courtballistec 1.3 (the shoe worn by Rafael Nadal and many other pros), Nike is taking full advantage of the success of its predecessor. This is a great tennis sneaker that tennis enthusiasts will be happy to know is being improved.
As far as the look goes, it’s actually somewhat retro in the sense that it looks like certain Nike tennis sneakers form the 1990s. The Nike Courtballistec 2.3 will feature a blue/white/grey color combo and the swoosh looks like it’ll be black.
As far as the build of the sneaker, it looks like Nike has made some obvious enhancements that should increase the playability of these sneakers on the tennis court.
A top feature that comes with the new Courtballistec sneaker is the fact that its traction seems to be phenomenal. These grip the court really well, but will also make great sneakers for clay court tennis, which Rafael Nadal is sure to love.
As far as the feel of them goes, we haven’t tried them on yet, but it does look like Nike has listened to the few critics who said the Courtballistec 1.3 fit too tight. The Nike Air Max Courtballistec 2.3 will have some more breathing room than its older versions.
It looks like Nike also plans to introduce a special edition of the Air Max Courtballistec 2.3 for the clay court season. Expect Rafael Nadal to sport these when he plays. You should also expect them to have a fashionable look, just like his pink sneakers did during the US Open.
As with the 1.3 version of the tennis sneaker, there’s still the six month guarantee in place, which promises any tennis player that the shoe will last for at least six months. Tennis enthusiasts patiently await the release of what should be an excellent sneaker.
