Table Tennis Away From Lawn Tennis

When you encounter the phrase ‘racket sport’, the first sport that might come to your mind is lawn Tennis. Lawn tennis is one of the most popular sports in the western part of the globe. And the next most popular racket sport in that area of the planet might be Table tennis.

A table tennis player once told me, “Playing ping pong is like playing lawn tennis while reading a newspaper”. It is like moving your body while moving your thinking. The statement might be an exaggeration for you. But for hard table tennis players, the statement just describes ping pong the way it is. Its nature of being a mind sport is only one of the qualities that set it apart from other sport. Let me give you two more special qualities of ping pong:

Ping pong is a sport that small persons can be great at.

There are many persons who want to learn one sport. But they are too hesitant because they lack the so called physical traits such as tallness and strength. In many known sports, such as basketball and lawn tennis, tallness and strength posts a great advantage. When you do not possess these physical qualities, you are limited by fate to be second-best players. In ping pong, being small and not too powerful are not too much of a disadvantage. As long as you can work out on your consistency and agility successfully, you can win a match. For smaller persons, stop hesitating and learn table tennis right away. It is a mind game.

Ping pong is a sport that anyone can be good at.

Have you seen a 10 year old ping pong player having a good fight against a 17-year old player? I have watched one. This is amazing and interesting for me. In basketball, you may hardly see a good fight between a 10 year old and a 17 year old basketball player. The reason behind this is the principle of age and growth. A 10 year old boy is not as high as a 17 year old. The disparity in the height between these two basketball players might be too enormous.

You need a table, a racket, a ball and a room area in order to set up a perfect ping pong playing area. To set up a basketball paying area, you need a construction company to do it for you. This means long time of waiting and money spending.
