Tennis is everywhere and those in the industry spend billions on advertising. Long ago it was all about loose fitting cotton fabric for those wanting comfort. While some sports produce unisex outfits that can be worn by men and women, that’s not how it works in tennis. There’s a large revenue source out there, and companies are competing with advertising and marketing to get a larger portion of those dollars. Those are dollars that are available because men and women wear different clothing. The clothing designed for women must look great, and make them feel great and play their best in all weather conditions. If you want to play your best you’ll want clothing that’s both snug and comfortable.
The times have definitely changes. Almost all courts the world over allow multi colored clothing today instead of the all white garments sported earlier. Shorts are usually worn by men while skirts are common among women. Although where allowed women can be seen wearing shorts as well.
When choosing your tennis clothes, the skirts should be chosen according to their length and fit. Wear your skirt too tight and you’ll be uncomfortable. Wear it too loose, and your performance can also be affected. Too tight skirts can make you feel uncomfortable through the sets while too loose could affect your overall performance.
To compete you have to be comfortable on the court. That means you’ll want a light fabric to withhold moisture as well. The last thing you want when playing tennis, or any other sport for that matter, is for your clothes to affect your play. But looking good is pretty important too!
