Weekly Review: Courtballistec 1.1 and 1.2 by Nike

If you’ve seen the new Nike Air Courtballistec 1.3 sneakers, you’re probably loving what you’ve seen and heard. Unfortunately, the prices for these run really high. If you find yourself in a situation where those are out of your range, the 1.1 or 1.2 Courtballistec sneakers maybe be just what you’re looking for.
These both have very similar looks and feels to the Nike Courtballistec 1.3, and they really don’t sacrifice much in terms of features and overall performance. They’ve been around for a little longer, so the 1.3 is new and improved, but it gets its foundation from its predecessors.
In the case of the Nike Air Courtballistec 1.2, we found a stable sneaker that gave us a comfortable feel while we played. We’re very competitive players, and by no means did we feel that we were playing down to a lesser sneaker. The toe protection built into these was great too.
Unlike the 1.3, the Nike Air Courtballistec 1.2 fits true to your regular shoe size, and comfortably. The break-in period is minimal, and it weighs over 1.5 ounces lighter than the Nike Air Courtballistec 1.3.
I love the soles of these sneakers, as they really grip all surfaces effectively. While I wasn’t fortunate enough to play on grass, there was no slippage on the clay court I practiced on, and they naturally gripped the hard court really well.
In terms of the 1.1 model, the prices are great and they feel just like the 1.2 model. While they do show a little more wear and tear over time than the 1.3 shoe, they’re cheaper and the wear really wasn’t so bad. These are ideal for casual tennis players looking for something that might last them a few years.
In the case of the 1.1 shoe, they do run a bit small, just like the 1.3 does. If you wear a 10, for example, you might want to get a 9.5 instead. As far as weight is concerned, the 1.1 seems to be the lightest of the three.
The most advanced of players may want to go with the 1.3, as this is the highest quality sneaker. It should be noted that all three are excellent tennis shoes that would make players of all levels happy. As they say, you get what you pay for, and you’ll be happy with any one of these sneakers.
