Why Female Tennis Ought to be Appreciated

Really, what’s the deal here?

When Steffi Graf dominated the game enthusiasts did not enjoy it. When the Williams sisters happened to be wiping the floor with anybody on her way to the championship, fans did not want it. And presently when grand slams are wide open to a bigger field? Supporters do not prefer this.

Most confess that the Williams duo shine above the whole field the majority of the time. But body defects and lessened non-Slam calendar years signify they now play every other prior to the title match. Though yet again we must remember that very recently the above-mentioned gripes with respect to this frequent meeting in the finals and their authority over competing players.

Well now we have Dinara Safina holding the number spot in the ranks and the US Open seedings. And what do people reveal? She hasn’t earned it because she hasn’t won a Grand Slam (not to mention that she has gone down in a few slam championship of late.) Although she’s reaching the slam championship and she’s rather amusing along the way, on the court and off.

Earlier she had to duke it out for a second time, practically becoming the 1st number one seed to go down in the first round. Was this compelling? I thought so. However we will hear all about the illegitimacy of the rankings procedure, etc..

And then there was Venus Williams last night–moreover pushed to three pairs. Additionally entertaining. (Also note that Venus didn’t have the most successful of summers post Wimbledon.) But in all likelihood to be heard is the prevalence of injuries among the sisters Williams and their “distractions” off the courts.

Moreover now Kim Clijsters is back and instead of being greatly psyched – which one must be since she’s affable and pleasant and a talented player – people are all saying “well what does it tell about the girls game that she might return and maintain a 6-2 finish during the summer year?”

Well I believe it says that she – just like she consistently has -maintains her physical state very well. Also that she is a veteran and she has virtually nothing to lose.

So let’s specifically stop all the bashing, please. Yes, there are issues in the girls game. (Such as the lack of variety in terms of playing technique.) Although I for my part love that it is anyone’s conjecture as to who will end up in that finals in under 2 weeks. And I am excited about watching how they end up there.
