Why Ladies’ Tennis Should be Appreciated

Honestly, why are things this way?
When Steffi Graf dominated the world of girls’s tennis enthusiasts didn’t appreciate it. When both of the Williams girls happened to be devastating any person on her route to the title, the media did not enjoy it. And currently when tournaments are more well balanced than before? People do not enjoy this.
Most admit that the Williams sisters win easily most of the time. But physical issues and diminished non-Slam schedules indicate they now play against one another before the title match. Though for a second time we must remember that not too long ago the previously referenced whining concerning this frequent arrangement in the championship and their supremacy over competing players.
Well currently we have Dinara Safina boasting the top place in the WTA race and the US Open seeds. And what exactly do fans say? She doesn’t deserve it because she has never won a Grand Slam (not to mention that she has choked in a few grand slam title recently.) But she’s reaching the slam championship and she is reasonably entertaining along the way, on the court and off.
Yesterday Safina had to duke it out for a second time, just about becoming the 1st #1 seed to be defeated in the first round. Was it entertaining? I thought so. However we’ll hear all about the inaccuracy of the ranking procedure, etc..
And then there was Venus Williams last night–also pushed to 3 pairs. Also compelling. (Moreover note that Venus didn’t have the winningest of summers post Wimbledon.) Although likely to be heard is the prevalence of injuries among the sisters Williams and their “distractions” off the courts.
Furthermore presently Kim Clijsters is back and as opposed to being very psyched – which someone must be since she is friendly and kind and a talented player – tennis lovers are all like “well what does this tell about the ladies game that she could come out of retirement and maintain a six and two record for the summer months?”
Well I think it proclaims that she – like she consistently has -maintains her physical state exceptionally well. Also that she’s an experienced pro athlete and she has just about nothing to lose.
So let’s just stop all the criticism, please. Yes, there are imperfections in the girls game. (For example the absence of diversity in terms of playing technique.) But I myself enjoy that it’s any person’s conjecture as to who’ll end up in that finals in under 2 weeks. And I look forward to witnessing how they end up there.
