Why Ladies’ Tennis Should be Cherished

Honestly, why are things this way?
When Steffi Graf dominated the sport fans didn’t appreciate it. When the Williams sisters were squashing anybody on the path to the championship, people didn’t appreciate it. And presently when grand slams are wide open to a bigger field? People do not appreciate this.
The majority confess that the Williams girls shine above the whole field the majority of the time. However physical issues and reduced non-Slam calendar years suggest they now play every other prior to the title match. Although for a second time we must keep in mind that just a year or 2 ago the above-mentioned whining concerning this frequent matchup in the finals and their governance over other athletes.
Thus presently we have Dinara Safina boasting the top spot in the WTA race and the US Open seeds. And what exactly do fans reveal? She has not earned it since she has never won a Grand Slam (not to mention that she’s been defeated in a few slam championship recently.) Although she’s reaching the slam title and she is somewhat engaging along the way, on the court and off.
Today Safina was forced to fight it out once more, almost becoming the first number one seed to be beaten in the first round. Was it amusing? I thought so. But we’ll hear all regarding the inaccuracy of the rank structure, yada, yada.
And then there was Venus Williams last night–moreover pushed to 3 sets. Additionally compelling. (Additionally note that Venus didn’t have the most successful of summers post Wimbledon.) However probably to be heard is the prevalence of injuries among the sisters Williams and their “distractions” off the courts.
And currently Kim Clijsters is back and rather than being greatly excited – which we must be because she’s affable and kind and a fine competitor – the media are all like “okay what does this reveal regarding the ladies game that she might come outside retirement and end up with a 6-2 record during the summer year?”
Well I suppose it says that she – like she consistently has -conditions especially well. Also that she is a veteran and she has just about zero to lose.
So let’s just finish all the criticism, please. Agreed, there are imperfections in the ladies game. (For example the absence of diversity in terms of playing style.) Although I myself like that it is everyone’s conjecture as to who’ll end up in the finals in less than two weeks. And I anticipate seeing how they get there.
