For a “tweener” racquet (one in between a game performance and a casual one), the Head Liquidmetal 4 might be one of the best ones you can find. It has been on the market for a while now, but publications like Tennis Magazine still praise the Head Liquidmetal 4 as an Editor’s Choice racquet.

Going off standard ratings, a 3.0-4.5 player will see the most benefit from the Head Liquidmetal 4. Most racquets at this level will be very head heavy, but the Liquidmetal 4′s near perfect balance is for the better.

Just like the other racquets in this series, the Liquidmetal 4 is lightweight and flexible. Owners of the racquet praise its control features, and there’s very little shock felt when the ball is hit compared to other competing racquets.

This racquet has considerable power as well. Though not heavy, it still packs a punch and helps anyone who finds themselves with a weaker swing getting an extra boost, courtesy of the racquet. The sweet spot is sizable as well.

When demoing the racquet, we saw the racquet’s greatest asset as its serving and overhead prowess. While the racquet’s a little lightweight so swinging too hard may be risky, once you’ve adapted, you’ll find some great control in these situations. It’s also good in the spin department too.

Improving players who are on their way up and are looking for a new racquet could have a lot of pleasure with the Head Liquidmetal 4. The head size is not obscenely huge, and it does everything pretty well.

The Liquidmetal 4 is the ideal transitory racquet for someone on the way up and looking for a familiar feel with one that facilitates the move from intermediate to advanced. Give it a whirl if you’re feeling good.
